ABOUT US

The Montgomery County CISM Team was established in 1986 with the primary purpose of helping those who have experienced critical incidents to manage the impact of the stressful event. The Team has assisted with: mass casualty events, disasters, plane crashes, line-of-duty-deaths, serious injuries, pediatric deaths, and other high-stress events.

The Montgomery County CISM Team provides the following services:

  • Critical Incident and Crisis Education

  • On-Scene Support

  • Demobilization

  • Peer to Peer Support

  • Defusing

  • Critical Incident Stress Debriefing

  • Family Support

  • Assessment and Consultation

  • Resource and Referral Network

BOB SANDS, PRESIDENT

 

Bob is a retired police officer, having served over 20 years with the Upper Moreland Township Police Department. He is currently the Training Director for the Abington Township Police Department. He has been a member of the CISM Team since 2008 and President since 2018.

MICHELLE MONZO, VICE PRESIDENT

Since 2002, Michelle has served as the Crisis Intervention Specialist (CIS) law enforcement/criminal justice personnel instructor at Montgomery County Emergency Service (MCES). She has been a member of the CISM Team since 2006 and Vice President since 2018.

JOHN BECKER, VICE PRESIDENT

 

John has experience as a police officer, clinician, outreach professional, and program developer and director. He is currently the Director of Caron Treatment Center's First Responder Program. John has been a member of the CISM Team since 2014 and Vice President since 2019.
